British Gymnastics is holding its annual Safeguarding CPD Event for all southern regions on Saturday 6th October from 10:30 until 17:00. The event will be held at KD Gymnastics near Newbury. It is a great opportunity to refresh on safeguarding matters, network with other professionals in the role and also touch base with the BG and Regional Safeguarding teams around changes and processes. Should the CWO not be able to attend other club members are welcome.

BG is running two Safeguarding Updates in September as part of their CPD (Continuous Professional Development) programme for club welfare officer. The first takes place at Pipers Vale, Ipswich, on 8th September from 2 pm to 5 pm and is then followed on the 9th at Salto Gymnastics, Luton, from 10 am to 1 pm. I am pleased to be able to bring you news of the proposed East Region Club Welfare Officers Day for 2012. This year it will take place on Saturday 12th May, 9.45am – 4pm at St John’s Church Hall, St John’s Road, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP1 1JY (immediately across the road from the Hemel Hempstead Sports Centre).
